Originally from a small farming town in Kansas, I moved to Arizona with my family when I was 13 years old. I now live in a suburb of Phoenix, and have been a professional math, physics, and statistics tutor (college level) since 1990. Though art has always been more than a hobby, it was only 5 or 6 years ago that it became my passion. As you’ve probably deduced from my gallery, my subject matter is usually people, painted in pastel, a medium I’ve used for about 35 years. I’ve sold a few pieces, here and there, but not nearly as many as I‘d like. Any advice that would help me along the road to being a professional artist would be greatly appreciated. I like my day job, but seriously, how many kids dream of being a professional math dork?
