Blue Jean Tease 2 by dlapastel Blue Jean Tease 2 by dlapastel
I recently did 3 pastels of this model, a friend for many years, stripping out of her blue jeans. This one is meant to be the middle of the 3. Like the others, it was painted on Uart sanded pastel paper, is 11.5 x 15.5 inches, and was done with a variety of hard and soft pastels.

I love all three but would also love one, with her jeans down near her knees or ankles ;) would be beautiful also. Your works are wonderful :)

Thank you very much.  I used photo reference for the 3, and didn't have any pics of the type you described.  I did recently do a more explicit sketch of a girl with her jeans pulled down to her knees, and I may do some more on it soon.  I've been too busy to do much of anything lately, but I'm trying to organize my time better so I can be more productive.  Now if I can just find a new model or two . . .

Thank you very much. I didn't plan on using super intense blues in the background - it just sort of happened. I have another painting of a girl peeling off her blue jeans, with the jeans being delineated from the background, more suggested than detailed. I'd kind of planned on doing a similar thing with these 3, but the paintings just kept growing on me. The jeans were fun to paint, and the color grew, and I just sort of let it happen.

Thanks. I try to push values, colors, and edges a little beyond what the photo shows, while still maintaining a certain amount of realism. Using pastels and applying them as heavily as I do with very little blending kind of gaurantees a bit of a painterly appearance. Sometimes I wonder if my choice of medium and materials has led to my style or if my style has led to my choice of medium and materials. I guess I'll never know.

Thank you very much. There are 2 more in this series that you might be interested in. If I weren't such a computor moron, I'd send you a link to them. (I'll have to figure out how to do that, some day).

the way you accent the muscles the way they flex is very realistic :)

Thanks. I enjoyed painting the 3 pastels of her, and may do 1 or 2 more in the future. As for the flexing muscles, if I could find a ripped, athletic model, I'd be more than happy to paint her stripping :D . When my bank account permits it, I may have to search ModelMayhem and try to round one up.

Thank you very much, for the kind words as well as the fave. The 3 of this model stripping out of her jeans were fun to paint, and I'll probably do another stripping series, from fully clothed, to fully nude, at some point in the future. Thanks again.

Ah ha ha ha! Ah..- Sorry, thank you for the compliment, 'tis a noble sentiment- But the reason I don't look like I have four kids is because I don't. 4kids is the name of the company that represents the other Dan greene. Ironically, the only reason I know this is because I occasionally look after other peoples' children...(Though why anyone would trust me with their young is beyond me -Buncha' Grubby, adorable little monsters.) But still, sorry for the confusion.

Hm. Awkward. But defiantly understandable. (Like "What, how can you not know this one obscure company that produced a terrible children's show about card games from 2004 until 2009?! Humph-Well-I-Never!")

...That was really funny though. :)

Thanks. When positive support comes from a fellow pastelist, it kinda feels good. She was fun to paint (all 3 of her).

And what's sexier than a woman peeling off her clothes?
