As an amateur artist, it can sometimes be difficult to find willing subjects to paint. I am always grateful when a friend shows support for my work with more than words, but with their time and actions as well. My gratitude goes out to the model for this painting, a friend, whose presence in my life has made me smile, inside and out, more times than I can say. Thanks.

This painting is approximately 10.5 x 16.5 inches, and was done on Ersta Starcke sandpaper.

My due respect, man! This is not only a gorgeous work but you also have an inestimable luck to have such friends. I can't imagine asking friends to pose for me. I wouldn't dare and I fear the reaction... never tried though. Sorry, digressing again. Your pastel works are absolutely stunning. You have a touch for beauty, needless to say.

Thanks. Often, the request comes from the girl (I won't say who did the asking in this case). I had a conversation with my locksmith neighbor just last night while drinking rum in his front yard and watching an approaching lightning storm. He told me that it's common when re-keying someone's house to see professionally done sexy pics or paintings of the woman of the house in the bedroom or game room. A lot of women know that age and gravity will eventually take their tole, and having a nice painting of themselves done while they're young and hot might be a good idea. If your work's good (sorry, I haven't seen your gallery) and you have pics ready to show (you never know when opportunity will knock) you might be surprised at how often you'll be asked to do a painting.
